  biography    Kane is part of Wysteria's Light Party, picked up by them in Endwalker. Despite being a DRK and carrying his heavy sword around, his body is pretty fragile and delicate. He's also a bit of a brawler, going into everything eagerly, so he's constantly got some sort of bruising/minor wounds on him. Constantly in a cock measuring contest with his husband, Thancred.---------Kane was born in Coerthas, on the outskirts of Ishgard. His childhood is mostly a blur to him, as he doesn't quite remember anything other than the chill of the highlands. That chill remains with him, lodged deep into his very being.He does not know why, but for as long as he can remember, he's heard this voice in the back of his mind. It sounds like his, but it's not. At some point, at the age of 20, he ends up in Ishgard on an errand, and that's when he discovers someone preaching about learning the ways of the Dark Knight... Everything clicks then, and things start to fall into place. That voice, it is his, but not in the way he thought...Somehow, some way, he possesses The Echo. He discovered this not long after beginning to learn the teachings o the Dark Knight, when something triggered a vision of his teacher's past. Panicked, he ran, going into hiding while trying to figure out what that was.Later, he returned to his teacher, apologizing for running away. His teacher accepted him back into the teachings, picking up from where they left off. Later, his abilities began slowly turning from Dark to Light......While he was curious about the reasons for this, he searched for reasons. At age 22, he snuck into the city of Old Sharlayan, desperate to search their libraries for more information. That's when he accidentally stumbled upon a cursed sword, possessed by a voidsent that immediately clung to his aether, slowly draining him over time. This has lead to his fingers and nails slowly becoming blackened.Not very long after this is when he stumbles across Wysteria on their journey. Kane was eating at the Cafe while pouring over books he snuck out of the library when Wyst went to the cafe for the first time after their arrival. The Echo flung them both back into a memory of each other's - Kane into Wyst's fights against voidsent, and Wyst into Kane's discovery of his sword. After both of them recovered, they both sat and talked.After this is when Wyst insisted he join their party, which is when Kane also took up learning Red Mage from them on the side because he wanted something less taxing on his body to defend himself when he needed.[WIP]
